Hesitating Again! >.<"

It looks to me like one of the so called CT tigers that have shown up in the last couple years. The only identifying feature on this fish that doesn't scream ST to me is the 3rd stripe on the tail.

Now I'm no expert on the subject but I have owned 10 different STs over the years. And as to whether or not the fish is worth $1000 only the op can make that decision.

+1 Except the part about owning 10 different ST's......... :irked:

Damn,10 STs!...My apologies for the derail but what did you do with them all and do you have any now?

I have owned a ST but it doesn't matter. People are getting scammed these days by buying hand picked 3 bar indos. Just because it is a 3 bar with a ST tail pattern doesnt make it a ST because a indo can have the same exact traits. If ST are extinct, you have to ask yourself, how come these little so called ST's keep poppin up? Compare the body shape of a true Pulcher from Thailand to that indo and even Stevie Wonder can see the difference.

It is my understanding, and this could be yet again a case of me being wrong, that they are not extinct. They are protected. It is also my understanding that CT is the same fish geneticly. CT comes from Cambodia and Vietnam. That makes since as the Mekong river goes through all 3 countries. John Kerry and I used to go on covert operations there when we were in Nam. Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

The st's that keep poppin up are not the Thai variety that are virtually extinct. If the op's was the Thai variety, the $$ for this fish would be a complete bargain

Thanks for the reply and for adding nothing to this thread.

Humor is a very important part of life...

Now if you want an opinion, that I can do, I am no Dat expert but I do have a 3 Bar IT so I have done a lot of research on them (seeing if I lucked out) and to me the fish in the pic does look IT and I wouldn't pay ST money for it. But I think the bigger issue at hand with these is that it is becoming almost like Black rays coming out of Asia people know they can get more money if it has BD attributes but they rarely are what they say they are.

Now that does add to the discussion and I have similar sentiments regarding certain rays.
