thought u may like him Liz.... and as for what he is, well newfoundland is closer to apperance but he anit a newfie or tho i do love newfies n my uncles rescue dogs r so kool....
nope he is from a eastern block old soviet origan, namely the caucasus mountains, and they are Caucasian mountain dogs / Caucasian shepherd's or Caucasian Ovcharka depending where u are from or where u first heard about the breed. they are a common working dog through out eastern European and old soviet countries like poland, hungry and mainly georgia where the originate from.... they have served fearlessly with russia army and used as guard dogs at numerous top level prissons in the eastern block...
