Thank you i think they are a lil special, very rare over here right now and fetching silly money but i just adore the breed they are so intelligent it is quite uncanny... hard work to handle unless you stay onit 24/7 from young but ive got alot of time to pour into him for next couple of years so the effort should pay off...

nope he is from a eastern block old soviet origan, namely the caucasus mountains, and they are Caucasian mountain dogs / Caucasian shepherd's or Caucasian Ovcharka depending where u are from or where u first heard about the breed. they are a common working dog through out eastern European and old soviet countries like poland, hungry and mainly georgia where the originate from.... they have served fearlessly with russia army and used as guard dogs at numerous top level prissons in the eastern block...

good luck with him.. just an awesome dog.. what great protection.. yes make him into a great dog.. socialized but watch dog over you and your family.. protecter.. but obedient... i love the breed..

We lost out Retriever in May-still very upset by it-and I daren't show this to the Wife as she'd love it.

Sorry to hear about your rottie man, its simply awful to loose a dog, u can never replace them.

I actually remember watching a documentary about maximum security prisons in Russia and they had them on there as guard dogs
