Hey Iowans!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was at Iowa Seascapes on 22nd in West Des Moines today (technically yesterday since it now 1:00 AM). The sick silver Aro was looking much better and it had two huge Discus in with it. They looked old. They were blue but kind of dirty looking, not bright like you usually think of. Not sure if any of them are for sale. The place doesn't seam to believe in doing much labeling on the tanks. Also many of the coolest things they have are not for sale when you ask. They are also having a sale on fish, corals and dry goods through Sunday. Not trying to advertise for them just thought someone might be interested. If you have never been to the place the White Tip in the 2000g saltwater pond is worth the trip IMO.

The bullhead looks better than the ones I've seen in aquariums.

Kitty, has you Pleco attacked any more fish.....or was that just a weird incident!?
Well the person who is taking care of my plec right now hasn't reported any attacks on his fish and when I go to visit the fish he's always hanging out behind the rocks. I think the pleco just took advantage of the bullhead being really slow

Yeah I can see that happening.....I was also thinking maybe the Pleco saw the Bulhead as a competitor for resources (kind of like Cichlids and Sunfish being more aggressive to the same species).

That sounds possible. When I get it back into my tank I'm going to make sure it has somewhere to hide, it could be that it was stressed not having anywhere really to hide so it became aggressive towards the bullhead

I caught a nice little channel catfish today, would've been perfect for the 75 gallon for a little while anyways.. but I'm keeping that pleco and don't want to get it killed.. it would've been a kool little monster to have!!

Channel cats are cool, Ive alway wanted an albino......but I'll have to wait until I make a pond. Wow I didnt know they got that big but the record down here in Mo. is over 50lbs! Maybe I'l rethink how big that pond needs to be !
