I'm not trying to knock down the SB900 but considering about whether or not I need what it has on offer.
Thom Hogan seems to be impressed by the new features and I generally appreciate his view on usefullness. The difficulty is taht I used a Nikon FM2 untill 2 years ago. All these settings and features overawe me and I do not wish to complicate things more the nescessary. Reading about flashes with menu settings kind of makes me consider whether or not that is what I want.
I would refer to test the device before buying but have not yet found a store which offers this.
The adjustable lighting patterns might be a brilliant thing depending on how soft/round the mirrors will be able to project this light pattern.
