Impressive. The biggest tank I've maintained was only 50cm long. It is a dream of mine to keep Arowana especially the Asian species. I've heard that Arowana are difficult to keep. Is this because of their large adult size? What other fish would you recommend be kept before an Arowana?

The size is a major factor, since they're open water swimmers they really like their space.

Honestly there are plenty of other awesome fish on the way to an aro, personally polypterus are a favourite small-to-massive fish.
