This is my first shot with these fish. Everything I read points to them being difficult to keep and raise.. however the photo I seen of an allegeded 20" specimen was just too much to keep me from trying.
Here is a shot of the pitiful 8" dragon I brought home this afternoon. From the looks of the tank I do not believe that the LFS had been effectively feeding them for some time.
He just pounded a cube of blood worms and a couple of slices of beef heart.

We will see how things go

Those guys are pretty cool. My LFS got a 14" one in one time that someone brought in and he was really nice. According to my friend who works there they have some spines on them somewhere cause when he was cleaning the tank and moved him with his hand and he got cut. I don't know if it was really the fish but but thats what he said so just a word of caution. Best of luck with him and I hope he gets big.

are they interesting. or aggresive ive seen them around but just by there looks make me think that there goin to eat all my fishes

Wow, nice dragon. How are they w/ other tankmates and what kind of tankmates? Nice color too.

Is a dragon a type of bichir?
