Is a dragon a type of bichir?

They are a member of the Goby family. From what I read they are not aggressive at all, prefer blood worms and other fine chopped meaty foods and have poor eyesight. Max size lists at 24"--How cool would that be.
They list as a brackish water species-I am hoping that the amount of salt that I regularily use in my tank will be sufficient.

We have one in a 55 gal. with angels and discus and he does just fine. He usually hangs out in the front half of a sunken ship up where the mermaid would be. Got him at Wal Mart. The guy at my lfs said he does live in brackish water but he can live in fresh but you would cut his life span in half.

Everything I have read about them say that they are a brackish species too. The owner of my LFS told me though that they are one of a few species that begin their life in brackish/salt water and move to less salty water as they grow older. That is the only time I have ever heard this, and I know this is not typical of fish in general, but according to him that is how this species lives. He said it will be fine in completely fresh water. Has anyone else heard this or have I been misinformed?
