Wow, thats crazy but interesting. Thanks for sharing and glad he was saved. How about some update pics of him back in his home :)

I would but I just moved and he is currently in a stock tank until I set up my big tank in the new place. As soon as I do though, I'll post pics.

Sounds like you were more stressed than he was! Great save and a beauty of a fish. I hope he knows how loved he is!

I was definitley more stressed than he was! LOL!

wow that's crazy. I have to admit though, I did enjoy seeing those pics and love it that you got the whole process photoed for us.Just an amazing process that none of us would probably ever see had it not been for your photo's.
It's too bad it was so large. As someone else mentioned I have seen one of my fish swallow a rubber band and you just need to help the fish by pulling it out once it begins to pass it but I don't think your arow would have been able to pass that. Just way too big.You should go buy a snake for it to eat as a treat now :D
Just glad to hear it all worked out for you.

I felt the same way...though the process wouldn't have been so cool if he had not have made it. The doctor said he would have gotten sick pretty quickly if it was not removed. They did an awesome job and took great care of my aro. They were super cool!

not my pics but happened to a local Aquaria member

fish just pooped it out haha

Wow! That's crazy! If I was confident my aro would have passed the rubber sealing, I would have definitely saved my money. Couldn't chance it though.

wow, I guess the moral of the story is don't leave anything loose hanging around the top of the tank. :grinno:

...Or anything remotely possible to become loose in the future!

hahaha.. I completely missed this thread! AMAZING save and thanks for sharing. this is something you probably would never see if it weren't for this thread!

how is your borneo python eel doing?

I also missed it somehow but it was a good read with a great outcome...I have a co worker who had an aro swallow a part of the filter intake strainer.
