I want to see some people who use this stuff (not hikari cichlid gold, but bio gold, the one that is around 20 bucks) and i want to see the coloration effect it has on fish.

I am thinking about getting a bag of it and feeding one of my flowerhorns on one side of my 55 it and the other on the other side of the divider just cichlid gold and see the difference.

problem is they are hybrids and they could look completely different when they grow up regardless of diet.

so flowerhorn = not a very good control...

but anyway until I can try my experiment, I want to know if anyone else already feeds their cichlids this and if they have any pics (like before and after, or just any pics at all)

i know u said not cichlid gold but bio gold, but iv been using cichlid gold for my FH's whole life so far...and hes only 2 inches and already has AWSOME color, so id say anything hikari throws out there is good in my book

thats what I figured. I mean how can it be that much different? I dunno.

and all that flowerhorn specialty **** is bull. the flowerhorn is a mix of cichlids so if you feed cichlid food it should be fine.

if you feed a texas cichlid flowerhorn food will it turn into a flowerhorn? no. thats just retarded. so why can't you feed flowerhorns cichlid food instead of Chingmix or watever. I feed mine cichlid pellets too and it looks nice.

hikari foods are top notch I'd say either one would be good....

all my cichlids eat hakari gold i,ve feed my africans bio goldi didn't notice any difference from gold but the price.:headbang2

I feed a real mix of food, and Hikari Bio Gold is one of the foods, and I am happy with it.

I love the bio-gold. I was originally feeding my fish cichlid gold and then recently changed to bio gold and i have seen differences in my cichlids colors. Srry i cant post pics(no camera at the moment). But i say try it i like it.

mmm honestly if you can afford the bio gold, you might as well get a 5lb container of new life spectrum. i think it's around $50 but should last you quite some time. NLS is a great food and i'm having a lot of good results now with it.
