I'm actually on my first ever bag of the stuff.I have previously used the floating food sticks and the sinking carnivore pellets by Hikari and I think the three of them are similar.

One of the best, for me. Been using it, loads of it, for years.

Smells awfull, unbearably so. I am switching over to NLS, partially.

This, if kept up with regular water changes you will not have that problem of a "stinky" tank.

Just started using nls pellets since I bought a school of black bar & red hook SDs. Red hooks love the nls, but my 2 black bars go for the Massivore I feed my datnoids. My BB's only over 4", couldn't believe they could chow down the massivore. They also eat the nls pellets too, but sure love the massivore.

As for floating pellets/sticks, they were great when I used to keep arowana, they'd eat as soon as hit the surface...but fish I'm keeping now prefer sinking. Floating just get stuck or sucked into my overflow.

I do not mean stinky tank. It is not the case.

It is the smell taht satys in the room when the bag is opened for feeding...awfull smell.

It's definitely got strong smell, but not nearly as bad as a dog fart in the room lol...but guess depends on size of room, my mines pretty spacious so smell never really lingered...

If you're using massivore in the long term you should definitely invest in the large (2 pound?) bags. Just look for them on amazon.
