Hikari Massivore, your thoughts?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Petmountain.com has 2.2lb bags of massivore for around $45 a bag with free shipping if you spend so much money (varies depending on their specials)...it would certainly help the OP with weekly purchases of the smaller bag

Same with the Carni sticks. Seems like a great deal!

No added hormones

Hikari sinking cichlid gold: fish meal, wheat flour, brewers dried yeast, flaked corn, wheat bran, gluten meal, fish oil, rice bran, garlic, dl-methionine, astaxanthin, choline chloride, vitamin e supplement, l-ascorbyl-2-poly phosphate (stabilised vitamin c), inositol, calcium pantothenate, riboflavin, vitamin a oil, thiamine mono nitrate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, niacin, menadione sodium bisulfate complex ( source of vitamin k), folic acid, vitamin d3 supplement, biotin, disodium phosphate, ferrous sulfate, magnesium sulfate, zinc sulfate, manganese sulfate, cobalt sulfate, calcium iodate, red 3*, yellow 5*. I know it's not massivore but still the ingredients don't lie. Once the hikari is finished I will be using nls exclusively!

Lol ...seel1990...comparinging cichlid gold to massivore is insane. They are massively different pellets. I also have to say it amazes me the amount of people I see saying that NLS is far better to massivore when quite clearly the amount of specimens shown on this site would indicate otherwise. As I have stated in the past, I have tried both products. I won't say NLS is an inferior product at all but it definitely is not any better than massivore IMO. Massivore is definitively more palatable and better suited for larger predators. Quite frankly, I find the way the NLS die hards preach about their beloved product an insult to the many who have had such brilliant results using hikari massivore for many years now. As for the OP,s original question? What do I think of Massivore. Yes. It is a great product and well worth the money!

Hey greenterra, how u doin pal? Not heard of you in a while. Still waiting on updates of your tank. You are absolutely right should have not compared cichlid gold to massivore but nonetheless it's a fact that nls has better ingredients than hikari. Hikari has way too much fillers:)

You could make your own food. Uaru Joey has a video on his DYI channel. I've been making jumbo sinking pellets using 3mm NLS and pond pellets. Since my fish are omnivores, I don't add extra meat or fish products and just use the two pellets. Jumbo mouthfuls for my fish and no more food in the overflow box
