Hillstream Loach

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Remember these are tiny tiny fish too. Any big fish in your tank will have a nice dinner if they can fit them in their mouths, and they are relatively unprotected and have no defence mechanism to protect themselves.

Mine are about the size of a quarter I wouldn't call that tiny, but I have mine in a 10 gal right now with a small black ghost knife who is growing out.

A BGK in a 10?!!!!???:WHOA::WHOA:

Wow, I am going to have to try really hard not to say anything that will get me in trouble with moderators at that....

HOLY COW! Please, I beg of you, for the sake of a fish that doesn't deserve the treatment its getting, put it in a bigger tank, NOW!

Im going to end up with 25-30 various hillstream loaches. Im going to put a tank in the sunroom with a bunch of smooth stones to grow algae for them.

:chillpill: ,you sound like a nut right now

Getting algae to grow by placing the tank in a sunroom is a good idea. Remember that the hillstream loaches (there are many loaches sold under this name) all prefer cool, fast moving water. Just because one or two people have found success keeping theirs at 78 degrees, does not mean that you will, nor does it mean that the fish would not live longer in cooler water.
