Hi there all you MFKer's

I have a newly set up 180gal and so far it houses :

1x Silver Arowana
1x Fire eel
1x Orange spot pleco
1x Marble Goby ( Hock )

but i do feel it is lacking in something i,e a fish/fishes i'm just wondering what other fish would look great in my tank and get along with my other species, ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ???

At the moment my tank is under treatment as i made a stupid mistake by adding a fish loaded with parasites in to my tank but they are on the mend now so all should be fine within a week or so.

:feedback:

I would add Rays, Bichirs, Dats and PBass and then immediately look into buying a bigger tank.. Minus the Pbass though and you should be able to keep them in the 180 for a long time. How big is the aro

You have named some fish which i would love to add to my tank and i have acctually considered and priced up how much they would cost me and let me say now they are very expensive over here in the UK

A freshwater stingray is around £200 which in USD that is $354 and to be honest i don't really have that sort of money i was thinking about a Bichir they ain't that expensive they are £35 / $62 Dats and Pbass they are expensive as we have to import them and anything thats imported over here means BIG£££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££
Get the Picture :)

But i am considering a Bichir ! :)

Dan my lfs had a small (5" diameter) ray in for £65 and a Large (12"-14") diameter one for £140. I would also love a pbass when I get my tank but how much do they cost? and where can you get them from? Also try http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk for rays, sometimes you are lucky when people need to make a cheap sale due to moving house etc and get the fish for cheap. Have you tried wharf aquatics? It is very good but the prices are just really the normal rate and not lower or higher. It is annoying how everything is imported. It was intresting look through the information on native fish you gave. Do you think any of those fish would go in a tank like yours?

Watch that goby, they grow quick and eat everything, when you move him you might want some midwater fish like tinfoils or redhooks.

You said £65 for a ray well i'm baffled as the guy at my lfs told me i would be looking at £200 ????????????

The infomation on UK's native fish i posted ! well the answer to your question " Do you think any of those fish would go in a tank like yours? " yes it is possable to house the fish i posted but obviously they are cold water so you wouldn't require a heater . But yes it is possable i have a mate who houses 6 redfin Perch and there about 7" To 9"

Are you from the UK ?

www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk i have used these guys befor there not bad at all but yet again it means looking for someone who will sell at a cheap rate.

Thanks for your feedback :)

Yeah I am from the UK. I am from County Durham and thats where the shop is which was selling the ray's . There called fish alive and have 1 motoro ray in the last time I went but I didnt see the price. There was also a ray in which was all grey but I am not sure which ray it was. I asked about other rays and he said that they can be £200+ for leo etc. I meant would they be okey in a warm water tank as I know people put goldfish in tropical tanks?

A leopoldi would be fine in those types of water conditions yeah thats why they call them freash water stingray's

"I know people put goldfish in tropical tanks? " are you refering to feeding them to tropical fish ?

Because you shouldn't really put goldfish in with other tropical speices as goldfish live in copper loaded water and copper is harmful to tropical fish. :)

I mean the giant goldfish some people keep with their fish.
I also meant could you put the native uk fish in a warm water tank not the leo ray :).
