Your best bet is to figure out a way to use PVC to get water into the HOB with PVC or some other siphon.

That's where your S pvc comes in right? to pull water in the box and then use a seperate pump in your sump to pump it back up?

Kind of, I thought of a different way, which would be easy, and I think it will work. (i've never tried this, if it's moronic and wont work please chime in)

Hang the filter on the tank, and divide the HOB into 2 sections. Drill one section to go to the sump, then keep the other section water tight with the inverted U tube submersed. Start the pump to prime it, the shut the pump off. After that it should act just like an overflow. Here's a crap illustration to try to explain what I'm talking about

(left is the back of the hob/overflow, and the other is the side of the tank it might go on)

A cheap 1/8" acrylic sheet and epoxy

I have some HOBs laying around, I'll give it a shot when I get some time.

Silicone?

Silicone wont always stick to plastic very well. It would probably work, but I'd use something else to be safe.

ok thanks very much. man you guys are fast at this...lol thanks for everything so far!
