Ya sharks are very common around the eastren seaboard of Canada. I grew up on the eastren shore of Nova Scotia in a fishing houshold. You get a lot more Blue sharks and Dog fish then any other but makos do show up now and then have yet to see a great white ther yet but would not be to suprised if one had been seen there. They used to hold a shark fishing contest out of Halifax Harbour in the summer but not sure if they still do or not.
Just a note about fisherman, there not all bad out clubing seals and killing dolphins, most I know do all they can to save a whale or any other creature that was not the disierd catch gets in a net. My step father is rather amused when he comes and watches my tanks its just what his famialy has done for years to make ends meat. The dragers and big overseas companys that come into our waters are the ones to fight not the small scale local fisherman.
