Thanks, I think I am good for now, but I will let you know. I have someone who has a 500 gallon pond who wants about 25 goldfish. I am going to give them a few more days before I offer them. The Oscars might have a home in a 75, my wife likes them and is talking about getting rid of her Mollies, Platys and Swordtails to keep them.

I don't have to push, they have grown on her. She loves how they swim toward her when she walks toward them.

well i just finished reading all those posts.... i think you did good... even if it dont make a difference to anyone.... it made a difference to those fish... i'm sure they are thankful for you. there aren't many kind people in the world these days... i'm sure brine shrimp are special to people as well... my friend kept brine shrimp for like a few months till their life cycle was over then they all went.... so he upgraded to triops cause the said they were cooler and they were pretty neat too... but anyways nice save...when i read this i was thinking karma... good things will happen cause you took the time out to try to save what you could even if it doesn't make an impact on the world.... it made an impact on the fishies lives

3.0 is out i think its time we hug it out. really i should say it was nice and kind save. its just something i wouldnt see worth doing. but if you feel good about it then keep it up. like t2good said good things are gonna happen to you because you helped those fish. maybe ill get eaten by a shark one day when im out swimming. knock on wood.

sorry for bashing. just overexpressing myself because i think its something crazy to do. youre a good person like i said but i still think fish are just fish and i would rather go and save a dog or a cat. just my morals.

holy crap,i read this thread and their are truley a handfull of these guys on hereView attachment 188266it seems they are slowly trying to break the spirits of others.Not what MFK should turn out like,its not youtube.The FACT is you took alot of time out and did something good for the fish at the time knowing you were not saving the lives of every fish that came in there after.However you did try to do what you could WITH LOGIC being how you knew you couldn't do it if they wouldn't drop the prices but they did,and you jumped on it.Instead of you being a zombie dill hole wandering the malls or out tagging,doing drugs or just spending your cash on a new shirt so you could look super cool you did something worth a crap to more than just you.It was worth something to alot of us just knowing everyone in this world has not yet turned to darth vader and the dark side,lol.Popcorn get real.You live with Mr Rogers in the neighborhood of make believe if you think we are hiding our true selves by saying he did good.Yeah ive killed frogs or fish and such when i was younger and it bothers me know to look back at that.I see the sadness in my girlfriends eyes when she sees the dead ones floating around at these shops.Its real.After everything ive been through in just 33 years,its real man.Ive got knowbody to hide from and truth is so much eisier to live with than running around covering your tracks trying to be someone your not.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,So other guy,ake sure you take care of what you saved,i hope all goes well.Someone in the herp forum did this with a handfull of tree frogs,these little guys can live good lives now.Man this site realy needs to crack down on not letting it turn into youtube and keeping it one big family and friendly site.Bashing is fun and so is debating but not from ppl who cant wait till they cool off to make a post.Your not saving the world by the fish thing alone bro,its that it puts good thoughts in our heads to help in society any way we can.Threads like yours and what you did just may give someone the balls they needed to do some good elsewhere.Good luck.Watch out for these guysView attachment 188266

True.. but maybe the thing you are trying to change is what needs to be looked at differently... maybe Working toward walmart not selling fish is a better fight than buying 100 fish you are not capable of caring for.

So do something different. Saving fish to kill them at home is not really saving them. And that is just my opinion..

i agree what you did is nice but in the long run leaving the fish to die would have made a much bigger impact than saving a few .
your heart is in thr right place and i think thats good but having all the fish die and stink out the shop ,then the workers having to empty and clean every tank would have made a much larger impact . how many more fish will die to refill those tanks . i feel that things have got so bad that a few hundread of us complaining will not make a huge change but a loss in profit for these places would make a much bigger difference .

Comeon now Tongue33... you know better than to assume that the heaters are there for anything more than just keeping the water from freezing Contrary to popular opinion it would have been wrong to not heat their tank for awhile as it was most likly heated at Walfart anyway

Common man you really don't believe that he could freeze them....?? I really don't think that he would be walking aroudn in his house with the temp below even 50 degrees.. Lets not assume he isn't capable of heating his house.. He has aquriums.....

Water changes are being done on a daily basis... reading the whole thread helps LOL

chances are pretty good that it would have taken awhile for them to all die there ... but if you want quick... I have a RTC that is ALWAYS hungry Chances are I would have "saved" these fish to... just so I could treat them back to health... treat them for parasites... (from wal-mart so it would have been like 5 times the regular treating for parasites LOL) and let my SA Cats have some fun...cheap way of doing it LOL

Ya I have hungry fish too The fish didn't live long at his house either.... My main deal with this particular rescue is.... It was more of an impulse than a plan. Which is fine.. I mean we all have done something similar...

A kiddie pool would have been a cheaper better way for the goldfish...

Plus You know my way is Feed live too.....

Also I believe I was as openly helpful as you were.. I only believe my opinion was different..

After he is done.. The fish he actually saved... Well those will be well worth his effort.. But If you feel so strongly about this thread.. Defend him by openly suggesting or pm if you prefer to keep the knowledge behind closed doors so the next person that attempts this doesn't get it..

Personally I think if that is your plan you should give the info both private and pm,.. Private so he get's it right away and openly so the next person saving fish from Wally world doesn't have to get the worst of this thread because you chose to private help and not openly.

Oh and thanks for pointing out that maybe I should be helping him I am glad you took what I typed the way you did Delivery was like sandpaper.. But Those of us like myself and you that have absolutely no tact ... Have to work a little harder at communication
