53 You do not need heaters in the gold fish tank.

How many are left?

How often are you changing the water?

Parameters mean little in a small tank full to the teeth,.. They will change in minutes or hours... Goldfish are high urea and ammonia emitters...So You will want to change your water according to stock. Your filters will not handle the load that was originally in there right away.. BB just doesn't come that fast. When you notice the cloud I would start a water change. If you have a test kit.. It will likely not be useful for the goldfish tank.. As you will be buying a new test kit inside of 24 housr trying to keep up with those parameters.

I would even suggest seeing if you can get the goldfish tank even lower in temp if they are not showing ich signs.. Maybe 60-65 the higher the temp the more active their metabolisms will be. The higher the metabs.. The more urea and ammonia... And with that many goldfish regardless of popular belief it would have been better to get the temp lower . You may have saved more ;) Just my opinion..

How did you add them to the tank? Did you net them out of the bag?
 
even several days of extra life in somebodys house is better than dieing in a crap store staring at the kids banging on the glass trying to wake me up.lol.What am i missing,hes not a super hero and he knows it.He was able to give somehing a try and did his best now he is trying to get the message out to get fish out of this store.Now each one of us can go with it and work our own towns.It may not work but if you got better things to do then do it.If not then mess with this.This has become a big deal and it dosnt have to be.Cant beleive their could be so much arguing on this,lol.Good luck all.If you ask me this thread could use closing because it just keeps repeating itself.

just trying to keep things fun and like you say,ineresting.If you didnt laugh at the pic then im commin to getchya!Its a website comunity,its hard to realy get ppl on here sometimes and arguing vie internet can get things all mixed up sometimes because ppl dont always want to type every dang thought in there head.We just need to understand things would be way better in person.
 
its not the small difference that im against. its the saving of the fish. if one soldier missed the plane and was stuck in iraq then that .0001% is still something. but the .0001% with the fish is a different case to me.

you view a fish's life just like any other life. i view a fish's life as lower than the life of a cat or a dog's. see where im going at. id save a dog but not a fish.

i think i stated multiple times that youre a good person. i got no problem with you or saving the fish. i was just overexpressing myself because i felt like it was something stupid to do because i wouldnt do it.

i dont think the way i think makes me cold hearted. if my fish was dying or was getting chomped by another fish i would do whatever i could to save it. but i would think of the loss as "o well"

:DWhy are you still chasing the white rabbit with this?? Do you want to the arguement and bashing to keep going??:D

3 stores in our area have stopped selling fish completely..A nd allot of it had to do with no one buying them.. ;)


I understand how hard it is to get people on.. But adding to it by defusing something that is already diffused doesn't stop it.. ;) And it stops the author form being able to answer questions that were asked to be able to assist them in keeping moer than none alive... So none should have to die at his house...

im one of the guys trying to keep some peace and also trying to close this because everyone else wouldnt let it go and now im getting raged on.Enjoy your thread,i stick up for ppl who do anything out of a kind heart.So if popcorn can reapeat a hundred times that its dumb to save them then i can try and keep a little peace on here.I dont think i liked your post,lol.Thats fine,you did good kid,get all the info you can from these guys and i wish you luck saving the ones you got.God bless.late.
 
How do you consider fish a lower life form? Have you ever taught your fish any tricks? Have you ever had a fish come up to the top of the tank to be pet? Have you ever had a fish that liked eating out of your hands? The only difference between fish, cats and dogs, is you can't take your fish out of the tank to play. I understand the difference between people and animals, but an animal is an animal.

I complained to a manager and he said they had a short in the electrical system and the heaters went out. I told him that wouldn't kill the fish. He argued, I implied he had no idea what he was talking about. Then I said what can you do for me if I buy all the fish. He called another manager and said .20 a fish. I told him to bag them up. So I had to set up my 3 extra tanks. It turned out I was short 2 heaters, so I went to the Reef for them. I now have a 60 gallon with Fancy Goldfish, Black Moores, and comets, on the dining room table, a 29 with Gouramis, Mollies, Platys Plecos and more (I still haven't had time to check them all out) on my wife's desk, and a 20 with a 6" Oscar, a 4" Oscar and a 3" Red Bellied Pacu on her nightstand. I have no Idea what I am going to do with the fish that survive. My wife wants some of them in her tank. All together, they charged me $30, but i think there are more than 150 fish.
