i had a goldfish that got sawed in half by a filter (got stuck in the wheel) and most of his tail and all his fins and scales were gone, i nursed him back to health and he lived for another year. hes gone now tho. sadness ={

i dont wanna steal your thread. maybe ill make a new one about this. but to answer your question hes still my fish. just because hes torn up eyeless doesnt mean i like him less. that only matters when im making a purchase.

im gonna continue to nurse him back since hes been making it till now. hes breathing slower dont know if thats good or not. from what it looks now hes probably gonna die in a few days. his conditions that bad. you dont even know. but its gonna be trouble getting him to eat in the future.

popcorn1, steal the thread. I want to know how he is. I think you kind of get what I am saying. Just because he is a fish, doesn't mean he isn't important.

anyways what are you going to do with all those fish when you can't home them... ie like now... try getting a rubbermaid tub and a bucket filter system... that may be your best way for the gold fish.... unless you live in an apt.... then i have no idea....

HA HA,I live in an apartment. I am getting rid of about 1/3 of the fish today. The rest won't be much of a problem. I had extra tanks, ranging from 10 to 60 gallons with filters. The scewed up thing is, I got rid of a few 10 - 29 gallon tanks a few weeks earlier.

my wal mart sucks at keeping fish, most of the time they have ick and when no one is looking i take a bottle of "ick b gone!" and use it on all their tanks. its usually gone for about a week. thats when i come back and repeat. lol

Wow, good for you! That really shows your compassion for fish. I think that I may do that tomorrow when I go to the city.

thanks for caring but it didnt make it though. he died probably sometime during the morning. i still see a fish as a fish. i bonded with it i guess. he was my fish and he came up to the tank and asked for food. i fed it and wanted it to eat enough. guess thats a bond right?

i still see it as o well. shoulda been more careful. u say you dont see a difference in the lives of animals. let me ask you this. would you choose to save your dogs life or your hamster if you had both.

and how are the goldies doing.

hmm since i have both, would it be careless/heartless of me not to believe in your point of view and go with the hamster?

not every one thinks the same you. you and 53 have very different points of views.... one is not going to change the other's point of view in an instant.... so this debate may go on for a while...
