holy moly. i survived an earth quake just now

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was actually in bed sleep when it happened. Bed and everything was shaking like crazy. I thought somebody was moving something in the apartment complex. Got pretty pisssed they was waking me up...lol..Then i saw my 300g shaking, then i was like oh, must be an aftershock and went back to sleep. I lived in Cali for a few years then Vegas for a long time so i really didnt flip out but i will say this, for that to have only been a 5.9, this building was shaking pretty damn bad.

I lived in San Diego for a time. You do NOT understand.

There are building codes in Cali. that require ALL contruction design in the state to "absorb" some of the energy of the tremmers. I have been through MANY in CA.

Dude. The buildings on the East Coast have NOTHING like a code designed to "absorb" any of the kinetic energy.

It was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WHATSOEVER like a quake that I felt in CA. The building (if the do move) in a tremmer is horizontal. The quake here on the east coast caused the building(s) to move north south!

You are hopefully jokeing in a serious situation where we can still not even dial out to check on our loved ones.

Ususally an awsome poster, but I think you are a bit calious here. Sorry to rant on you, but many of us have HONEST concerns and are not "quite" comfortable enough to "joke" yet until we can assure the safety of our families for pete's sake. Have a little compassion here!

Still too funny to me. Don't get hysterical now, you're posting in the lounge of monster fish keepers. :chillpill:

Hey, I felt a 5.9 today, my cell phone vibrated when my alarm went off this morning. ;)

Just in case anyone was concerned...I'm fine. LOL

lucky no one was sitting in that chair. we must stay alive to fight the zombies when they come.

Maybe someone was......There was talk of releasing the inmates in the Phila.prisons so they wouldn't be harmed.

Eat more breakfast then and keep them on your side of the continent, lol. I am in MD and it shook the walls of my house pretty well and splashed water out of the back of my tank.

i find it amusing that those east coasters ran into the streets, if buildings had actually started falling apart, it'd look like cloverfield

i guess after no earthquakes of that magnitude for 114 years they forgot what to do. i'd think there'd be enough transplants though that someone people would've used common sense.

yesterday was a great example of how the media focuses on large east coast cities, the quake in CO barely got a mention
