great dogs and their scary as heck
but their pretty big...

they use them in africa to protect goats from cheetahs

:iagree: you should get a pit bull or a number of large dogs that will scare or attack the coyote, if its just one coyote he wont want to go near the boundaries of more than one dog the same size or bigger than it or just one mean pitbull or bullmastif but if there are more than one coyotes or theres a pack of them i dont know what to say.
 
is it a pack or just one because in the muontians were my freind lives there is very little rabbits and coons to eat and the sqiurels are very clever and inpossible to get and the coyotes attack dogs and larger prey like deer in packs almost like wolves but i have seen them and heard them and they definatley are coyotes

unfortunatly sounds like you got a pack of em if you heard more than one and there was noting left of the cat,cats if you get any dog i would get a big dog that can take bites and kill maybe like a dogo,some pits,bullmastif ect. thats the almost only way i have some packs of em all in the hills right near my house they if in packs of more than 4 or 5 will just ignor you unless you have a gun and around here some packs even cannibalize on loner coyotes so i would really get some really big dogs:(
 
hahaha just adopt a loving half breed of a Wolf and another kind of Canine...you might find some luck finding one like that in the SPCA and its a loving pet to humans but killers to those things they are attacking out in the wild just like coyotes...a neighbor of my uncles has one thats a half breed of a wolf and some other dog

or purchase a paintball gun...just lower the fps from 225 fps to 100 fps if possible...this way you just hitting it lightly and not hurting it but yet your going to be scaring it...if theirs just one just leave the marker off of full but if you got a pack running loose just set that sucker on full auto and blast away! Right now my marker(paintball gun) is set for 500 fps which is illegal to have during tournaments...but when out playing for fun (Hurts like F***!) haha you would not be able to get up if shot in the thigh as this pressurize markers can and will rip tissues upon impact. Get on your roof and attach a Scope and or a Night Scope for night time where some predators might attack at night fall...and just wait for the time and when they come fire away
