Well after several coats of paint, I think I've got it right. I do have to do some highlighting with diluted acrylic paint and finish up the paint on the frame & I'll be done!

Well all I have to do is clear coat & mount. I am unsure with the color of the ray though. I was trying to go lighter but it came out much darker than I was trying for.
Opinions,, should I lightly sand the ray to lighten it, or leave it as is?
The flash totally washed out the dimensions of the slab.. I'll grab one without the flash..
Okay,, I played with a pic. The changes show the texture / dimensions of the slab but made the ray look darker than it is..

Well I tinkered with it before bed last night. I lightly sanded it and made the ray portion more of a brown natural tone. The first attempt just wasn't sitting well with me. The color just looked fake???
Any way, what do you think? Am I done, other than clear coat?
