If you have filters from an established tank running on the new tank you got nothing to worry about, IMO.
Cycling happens in the filter, that's where the biggest part of benificial bacteria thrives...

what do you think have more bacteria build in? filter or gravel?

Thanks zennzzo.. Im not worried, but like you said.. between my filters and sand and decor, I think it will be fine.. How do you like the tank set up and elong? I tried to make the tank simple, so he has lots of room to swim, and 1 cave to hide in.

They both hold ALOT, probably substrate since its a bigger surface area.. But my substrate (sand) is from an establish tank.

but in hawaii we dont really have to worry about it cause they dont clornate are water like how the mainland does so i dont really cycle nearly as long as you guys

This debate has over-run my elongs thread!!! haha.. I know I didnt properly cycle my tank, but I did the best I could do for getting him same day... How does the tank look?

IMO Gravel :D

I have SAND!!!! I dont think that small elong will create a huge bio-load with that 29g tank with 2 powe filters.
