  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Several types can be made but for that size commercial filters might be better.

anyone have any info on making a wet/dry for a 75 gallon?

On my 55, I directed the output of my canister filter to a garbage can filled with bio balls. I drilled holes at the bottom of the can and placed the can in my AC 500. It worked well i think and cost me about $10 since I found all these things around the house and used my canister's pumping power. However, it was ugly as heck to look at with that garbage can sticking out of my power filter. Hope this helped.

Here ya go!! The easiest and least expensive wet/dry you'll ever see! Made up on the spot by, me!

You will need:

1x 5 gallon bucket
5x XL Bags of Green Army Men
1x 300-500gph Powerhead
1x Square Foot of Filter Floss
some PVC pieces(1"), silicone, and a good ceiling hook. :grinyes:

Drill a hole in the 5g Bucket and create a PVC attached overflow.

Put all of the Green Army men in the 5g bucket. Place the Filter floss on top of the Green Army men.

Hang the Bucket from the ceiling with string and hook, and attach more PVC to allow the overflow to drain into the tank.

Have your powerhead pump water through PVC up above the bucket, and trickle over the filter floss, army men, and back into the tank.

... This is cheap, and effective.. Also looks great next to a bug zapper.

You might also find some DIY plans on the Internet, and even use this concept to make your own great idea!
