That looks like a good mix to me. I would say maybe 2 bichirs or 2 rope fish instead. They both like the company of there own kind An will pile on eachother that looks cool. As far as the Ctenopoma get it young and start feeding it frozen blood worms. That is what mine did and he has no intrest in eating smaller fish or anything that is not blood worms. To me it looks like a good community mix. Good luck

My leopard fish I have had since they were 1", and they are never given live food, but they still decided to eat my cory cats. So, I would say it definitely depends on the fish itself.

Maybe im just lucky cause my Ctenopoma is about 4" and I put four zebra loaches in with him an they were only 1 1/2". He never even tried or cared about them. Only wants blood worms.

I bet your loaches might be a little faster/coordinated, lol. My bichir killed all my cories. I think he got tired of them bumping into him. Didn't try to eat them, just murdered them.

that's what I think... I have clown loaches, and zebra loaches, and no issues with them all together.

Seems like it would be awesome but I agree get rid of the sailfin

This plec maxes out at 10-12in. Is this going to give me bioload issues? Have had it for almost 4 yrs now, so I would like it to go to a good home if I do get rid of it.

As Lady Gaga would say: It's a monster... the poop monster. :headbang2

Other then agreeing about the pleco in general, it's also generally a bad mix w/ Bichir. a few pleco species do well with bichir and other bottom dwellers imo, but most will go after their slime coats eventually.

also be wary of spiney eel and bichir. the combo generally does fine if the spiney is as big or bigger then the bichir. I don't have experaince w/ albus but you may also wish to look into the other species since most are found in africa/asia. M. Favrus may be worth looking into as it's the smaller of the 2 tire track species yet will still get large enough not to be a issue with your tank-mates long-term. M. Dayii may also be worth looking into as it's generally abit smaler tehen Favrus as well but still going to run the 12-18" size range that would be compatable imo w/ Bichir.

Since I should probably get rid of my sailfin, and that is the only non-african fish on the list...... The african spiny eel search is on!!!

You should get some type of pleco.

I have tons of different ones:

Royals, emerald, blue phanton, clown, whiptail, para, white seam...

I think a para pleco would look sick!

Here is mine
