Use the hood. It will make the tank setup look like its a more established part of the house and not just a piece of furniture. Stain it and let grow on you. Nice tank btw

Canopies always look good, but depending on design, they can make maintenance a PITA

Hell yeah! We had the long horn over out tank when we had a 150 and it was pretty cool lookin but It wouldn't fit over the 250 now even without the hood. I never thought or really putting it on the front. Good idea!

Keep the canopy and get a really long siphon tube for waterchanges! It will look great once you stain it.

Thanks! Yes we have a really long syphon tube already lol. It's like 20ft. I love it now I guess it just took me a couple of hours to get used to
