  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah this is the exact fish. I have been buying fish off richard since i was 6 years old lol. I could take more photos of the head for comparison if you want me to?

I'd love to see more pics of any kind of this fish! It's a very nice wolf!

More then one? Breeding attempt?

Some beast wolves you got there, can't wait till I have a tank big enough for a hoplias. I'm content w/ my erythrinus for now lol

Nah, Not trying to breed them just trying to cohab them but it has worked well. Gonna try to introduce a curupira and mala soon.

So having this Iguaza in a tank in front of you, would you care to speculate on whether or not these "Iguazas" are indeed a form of Lacerdae?

Would love to know your opinion!!!!!

I have seen 4 lacerdaes in person. I don't think they're a lacerdae but i think they're a new species. They don't match the profile of any other hoplias i have ever owned.

How big were the Lacerdaes you've seen????? I don't see them even close to as much as I'd like to.....

I know it's likey a new species, but if you had to compare it to another species which would it most closely resemble? I thought they look a lot more like a Lac then a Mala......

Yours is 3+ years old isn't it? Very curious how big these guys get.....

Smallest lacerdae i have seen is 13 inches and biggest was around 30 inches. And the iguazu does look more like a lacerdae than a mala. And the iguazu is about 2 years old but it has only grown 1 inch in the last year.

30 inches??? :WHOA: Please tell me you have pics of that thing?!?

Sounds like it was a quick grower then hit a brick wall. :(

I love the looks of them, but if they don't get big I'm not sure how well one would mix with my big wolves. :(

Maybe the max size could be why they are overlooked and lumped into the "Mala variant" category.....

Thanks for the info Liam! Really appreciate it, but unfortunately the decision making about getting one definitely isn't getting any easier. :(
