Yeah that is the one exception I stated in the thread as a definite NOGO!!! They are jerks too up there. When I told the guy I keep my waters at 82-84 debrees...he told me that was too hot for the fish!!! He said I should let it be like 4-6 degrees cooler than that. I told him that it was unforunate he was telling people that information on Amazonian tropical fish.

actually he's right, aros will do perfectly fine at 4-6 degree's cooler, but 82-84 is perfectly fine as well.

i bout mine at half that size for $45 and Im not complaining ;)

Yeah 99% of the people don't know that. Of course, 95% of those people will not pay 49.99 for a fish at all:ROFL: .

Yeah but I keep mine actually at a constant 82. I creep it to 84 if necessary. But his "advice" wasn't referring to arows. He didn't even ask me what kind of fish I had, because that wasn't the topic of the brief conversation. And that was before I noticed the condition of their tanks. He was suggesting 76 degrees regardless of fish.

Here is were I think it's the funniest part, if I run my business like them, and have a product that I bring in paying $11 a piece from a distributor, and mark it up to crazy$$$, I would make sure that it was displayed in an appropriate manner, if for no other reason, but to showcase my bread and butter!

Now their mentality is to mark it up like a jewel, and present it like a guppy in WalMart...there must be a lot of people that buy fish tanks in the world with no knowledge at all, that's how these guys stay in business...

By the way, "That Fish Place" sells baby silvers for about $39, around here most 3inch fish go for about $49 to $59, that's why I order them on-line...

Wow, just look at that tank, it is filled with absolute crap!!! I have never seen a tank, atleast not at a fish store, filled with so much clutter of crappy plants and pipes. For housing so many fish in a small tank, the least they could do is clear it up. :swear: :swear: Thats a disgrace.

WOW, I just noticed that price too, what a rip off!! What does he think he's selling, Asians?!?! Aros arent that common around me, but I have seen silvers around 6-7" for about $20 at one place in a mall near me, I would have gotten it if I had the tank size. The most expensive silver I saw as about 16in for $150.

Maybe we should all write them a nice letter:irked:

i paid $99 for mine at 4"...but seriously....12 5" fish in a 10gal...let alone arows...is wrong.

i thought tanks were alway bigger in texas?

Don't tell me y'all are surprised..........

This is a FISH STORE, guys... unfortunately this is very, very common. I mean, EVERY fish store has a tank like that one way or other, if not ALL of them, like that.

To rant about this one tank means we should in fact be ranting about EVERY LFS.

I bet these Idiots tell there customers that these fish can live in a 55 gallon for life or they will only grow to the size of the tank.:irked:
