Nice fish in your avatarkallmond;3944548; said:Aesthetically it seems sort of lacking. My first impression would be "looks like a broken hot tub filled with fish." My second thought would be "Cool, what better use of a broken hot tub".. But the second is because I'm a fish-geek, and I think pretty much anything that holds water should be filled with fish. Non fish-geeks are going to think its really odd though.
Did you heat it, filter it? How did you keep it in the winter? What fish did you have in it? Anyway fish deserve a spa more than we do!

Most are light colored and the fish will likely be skiddish and any debris will show up. Tubs use the volume very poorly for a pond, a 300 gal tub would hold about 3x as much water if you just framed a box with wood or cinder blocks and put in a liner. (pretty cheap too) I looked at used spas for about a year on craigslist (eventually spent decent mony on one and even it has been a lot of hassles) The free and cheap ones I found were a mess and don't think it would be worth the hassle for a pond when a liner is so easy.

Just get a kiddie pool from Walmart (the metal framed kind). They cost next to nothing and can be broken down in about 5 minutes if you get sick of them. A submersible pump and a garbage can full of cheap biomedia and you're set.
