I'm going to be in Baltimore next week and looked up a place called the house of tropicals. Is it worth a visit? I keep SA/CA cichlids do they have anything good in stock now worth checking out? Thanks

They typically have some interesting stock. Often their less common stuff mirrors Jeff Rapp's stock list which makes me believe they either order from him or directly from his supplier. Tanks are generally in good condition but overall the prices are just way to high. I recommend checking out Beltway Aquarium while you're down here, good prices and they always have a lot of super rarities. Always a good selection of SA/CA cichlids. Last time I went they had a few goonches, ntts, blue aros (grabbed one), huge scarlet plecos. Go through the tanks atleast 3-4 times or you will absolutely miss a bunch.

H.O.T is well worth the visit best store left in the area by far, hundreds of tanks and generally clean healty stock.
 
Both Beltway Aquarium and HOT are worth visiting, as I regularly do when I go south. Both stores have good selection of CA/SA, and Beltway in particular carry predominantly CA/SA, FH, and tank busters. Last time I visited Beltway and saw 5 to 6 monster size Dovi.
 
Beltway Aquarium prices are usually better than H.O.T. IMO, but H.O.T. has more selection.
 
Make sure you take home this Dovi from Beltway Aquarium. He is about the size of a big cat, and Beltway has several of them to pick from.
