House plants that can go in your tank (roots)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry if this sounds dumb but... Ok so I get the plants being described are only being submurged no further then their roots.. but how are you sustaining them... ? Hanging I get, but I would have to hook it from the ceiling and I really don't want to do that... So if anyone could give me some ideas I would really love to implament some of this stuff.. cause it sounds awesome!!!

I have a plywood tank, so I bought a 36" planter box from homedepot and screwed it to the inside of the tank.

I will eventually be building this on top of my tank. So it can be a filter and plant holder all in 1

Do you guys have this plant over there? It's a common bog plant here in asia which we use to flavour deserts and confectionery as it has a sweet nutty fragrance. We also use the leaves to chase away roaches because somehow they don't like the smell. Many fish farms and hobbyist grow this in their sump filters or box filters to absorb nitrates.

The riparium hanging planter and trellis rafts are a good way to do this. The planter just hangs on the rear pane of glass with a sandwich magnet or sction cup mount and the raft snaps into place in front.

So If I'm picturing this right... the actual pot (metal) is sitting in the water?? If so, over time is this ok??
