Really, havent seen many threads you havent posted wrong advice on or threads you've preached on and made stray yet. I never said to look cool, read my post..I said on as many threads as you can.

Quality over quantity...

If you are happy for them to breed, you can keep them together... However I don't think you will necessarily be able to guess and it would be too late, and you'd have to be prepared for young 'uns and take care of the mother, so for your situ it sounds like a better idea to keep them seperate.

i had a female king snake and a male in the same tank for over ten years and they never once mated. just because you have amale and a female in the same enclosure doesn't mean anything. to the other discusion that is going on, the whole purpose of life to every species except humans, is to populate the species, period the end, so every species is driven to reproduce every chance it gets. some animals have to raise their young so it cuts down on reproduction. but their are three sides to every argument, so i guess you BOTH are RIGHT!!!!

do we not need to self populate as a species then? That urge you get when you see someone you thinks hot... yeah thats what makes sure we populate...

not to mention I can point out many many occasions just in the reptile world of how they don't reproduce every chance they get... In some cases, if she doesn't want it, you get eaten... maybe we are lucky with just a slap in the face eh?

as people no we don't. there are 6 billion people an we are over populated so i guess we do reproduce every chance we get. as far as getting eatin, maybe she was hungry and as we know self preservation conquers ALL?

Yes... we are over populated... doesn't mean that we don't have the same "purpose" of breeding like every other species though.

Or maybe if they don't fancy the advances of another (male) then they can be useful as food. Happens with King cobras for example. Not to mention that many females of different species take flight when they don't want to reproduce. Giving birth can be dangerous and like a lot of animals like to be in reasonable health before going through that ordeal.
