beautiful jag..did you grow him from a baby..what do you feed your jag.. i have one about 9.5 inches and a wee baby... how big is yours and how old is he.. gorgeous!

This guy's about 9". I bought him when he was about 3". He had already paired up with a female in the tank at the store. He killed the female after I removed their first batch of babies. I've had him for about 2 years but he's small for his age. He's probably a bit stunted from spending such a long time in a tiny tank at the lfs.

well he may be slightly stunted but he is one good looking jag.. and i love his tank set up.. did the fry make it after you lost the female? I wanted to buy the female for my jag that was still at the LFS but i decided not to do it right now.. mine is doing well finally, ate his first couple of pellets yesterday..made my day because all they fed him was live food at the Lfs... so maybe now i can forget the meal worms..he is also eating freeze dried shrimp..the baby eats everything.. thanks oh and ps.. very special photography... a winner!!!

Thanks!

Unfortunately the fry didn't make it. After moving them they slowly started dying off. I'm not sure why. I would have left them with the parents but the parents were so protective that they refused to eat and were getting so thin.

Good thing yours is on pellets now. They can be really picky!

I had advice from LFS to starve him but i couldn't do that..what i did was put him in his own 75 and offer him all the things i wanted him to eat first..and of course he snubbed it for weeks... but i would lessen the amount of meal worms so eventually he started to eat the freeze dried shrimp ... and we also offered him frozen silver sides..again he would snub them but we left them in his tank and he would eat them over night.. whew!!!! And now finally a pellet...too bad about the babies... especially too bad you lost the female.. but this is how they are...once again i would like to say best jag pictures ever!!!
