  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ive been keeping RBPs for about 2 months now. I just upgraded from a 55 gallon tank to a 90 gallon tank, i have 9 RBPs so thats 10 gallons per fish. I have a Fluval FX5 and i was wondering about pretty much everything, feeding, filtration, heating, do i need a pump for more oxygen? Anyway pls msg me if you have any info that you think might be helpfull, thanks.......

Nothing real exotic. Just a Rubbermaid tub as a homemade sump. I just need to figure out which DIY overflow I prefer.

This shows how different my Brandtii are from yours.

thats it? thats all the pics of this experiment you set up? i mean this is COMPLETELY worthless with out pics. 10 pages of posts and all we get is a crappy pic like that? i mean why bother creating this tread? to find out there maybe a CF? and that you cant cohab these? imo this is probably a bunch of BS. the first thing i would do is document this cohaby like primetime3wise did his mac shoal. i also was able to see that shoal in real life and in pics and saw the breading. i donated a few spare tanks i had to him for the project. but untill i see a full tank shot of this and some close ups of the fish. its all suspect. i mean you created the "how is this cohab possible" thread and four days later you did all your homework and bought 10 brandtii for your 480? and then it didn't work out? lol this is ridiculas not only did you not figure out how to do this successfully but didn't document the results with pics.

Perhaps the reason I've not posted pictures is I want critical thinking folks which obviously you are not, to think.

I realize you're only capable of learning through pictures but there are these ''things'' known throughout mainstream America such as capital letters, paragraghs and proper puncuation. These things slip your mind much like anything else but please know I in no way exist to appease you or your negative thoughts.

If you wanted them to just think, why not create a thread that says "what do you think about cohabbing 10 brandtii in my 400 gallon tank?" to which i would have replied "Yes, do it, and take lots of pics"

I realize you're only capable of learning through pictures but there are these ''things'' known throughout mainstream America such as capital letters, paragraghs and proper puncuation(is that a typo Mr. Critical Thinker?). I am in tears over your harsh criticism of my punctuation. The only negetive thing i said is that you lack credibility with out pics, which is more than obvious!

Critical thinking folks? Like you? That make claims like putting 10 brandtii in the same tank. Only to have it FAIL after touting all your research? I will take that as a compliment that you don't include me in your high and mighty opinion of who is or is not a "critical thinker". I could claim to have a dozen 2 foot rhoms cohabing and breeding like bunnies, but if i did that and didn't post pics i wouldn't expect ANYONE to believe me. You are constantly talking about how nobody has done it so there are all sorts of nay sayers out there that say it can't be done that are clueless. So, logically, if you wanted to contribute to the hobby then a well documented thread with pictures of your experiment would be expected.

Bottom line you failed.

Before this therad turns into something childish..

They look extremely different then mine..

And FYI i do not document anything that goes on in my tanks.. i keep my information to myself.. i seem to be a pretty busy guy and dont always have the time to take pictures of things and write it all down, so dont take what this other dud says to the heart..

OH I GOT SOMETHING FOR YOU GUYS..

Next week though:naughty:

What can I say? I'm a Bookseller by trade and make my living selling literature. I try to uphold at least a basic sense of the English language and respect those who feel the same.

Had you read the whole thread as you claimed to have, you'd understand I've not posted much info or pictures here simply because I'm building a website for all that. I have my own reasons for not posting this info for every Tom, Dick and Harry that stumbles onto a Piranha forum.

Actually I see no failure whatsoever and BTW, I said no such thing as ''nobody has tried this before. In fact I said quite the opposite and know 4 people personally who have kept Brandtii together and one guy who's on the verge of breeding his shoal.
As bad as I feel for causing the death of one of these amazing fish, if I can advance the hobby or somehow add to accurate information of this or other species then it was all worth it.

I'm not done by a long shot. I'm simply going to learn from some of the more commonly cohabited Serrasalmus species and will probably never give up.

i have been having a hard time trying to find a brandtii. do u know were i could get one? i have a gold and a elongated piranha. i want 2 start collecting piranhas.
