Late last year, there were a few sellers like cichlidsrool and rkc772 who were selling hundreds of baby IT dats. I picked up 25 of them in Dec 09 and they were about 1/2 inch and now they're all about 2.5 inches.

If you bought baby IT dats last year, how big are they now?

idk if i've had mine since dec., but mine are starting to get big. i picked up some from another place, lfs, and they're still tiny. trying to get the little ones on pellets. the bigger ones, about 1" and a half to 2" are starting to look real good and stable. can't wait to see them grow larger.

Picked mine up in January at .5" and the biggest one is 4" now and the smallest is at 3"

Wow that's awesome that your dats are at 5" now. How did you get them so big, so fast? Can you describe your dat tank setup, what you feed them and other things to get them that big?

Here's mine:

Setup: 25 IT dats in a 60g. All of them are about 2-3 inches.
Filtration: 2 AC 110's and a Biowheel 350.
Temp: 84
Lighting: low light (just a little natural light from outside)
Food: mostly cichlid gold sinking and some carnivore pellets.
Decor: 3 pcs of driftwood they hide under.

Post up more of your baby dat updates!

sounds just like mines. don't feel like posting the settings now, but i have one also that's started to outgrow the others. they get blood worms, and the others eating sinking pellets now.

76 in a 40 gallon breeder. Haven't lost a single one yet.

They're still somewhat small, the space may be the issues :) They're about 2-2.5 at the largest.

They're on chopped shrimp, smelts, bloodworms and pellets. They eat every day.

76 in 40 Gallon breeder
AC110 and 2 Big sponge filters
Temp is whatever room temp is, 76-80 degrees throughout the day
Water change at 70% every other day.
Fed Daily
Bare Bottom, Bare tank, natural light
ALL STABLE :)

I also got 20 from rkc777. Havent lost any. About 2.5-5". They went from a bare 55g to a 180 thats bb w/ some driftwood. Some are now in a 120, 180 and 40g. Eating mp and massivore.
