how big does this fish grow up to??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
But I am talking wild fish, one raised in a tank will most likely get 2-3 feet.

Dude, I'm not talking Pseudoplatystoma sp. I'm talking M. tigrinus, I have seen three footers plus and heard stories of 4 footers, nobody ever holds onto em long enough for them to reach their full potential because they sell them off or they die. Oldest one in hobby is maybe 4-6 years old, still a youngin'.

show me a pic of a tig over 2' verified meauerment, not around...not that is atleast over 2'

Posted as 90cm. it is also obviously larger than 2 feet.

Also, this video shows a "flash zebra" which the fish in question is actually a tigrinus, not a juruense.

still no tape showing actual length...going off the pic the fish is roughly 2.5 widths of his head...going off my head from back to front it is 9"+-...now that puts your example of a tig that is well over 2' at roughly 22-24"...now we know that they can get that big...your task is to find a 3-4' wild or tank raised fish as proof...

at my lfs they have a 8" for 199.00

the vid looks to be about the same size as the one from the pic...and again no tape...also jurunese get bigger than tigs so it doesn't help your cause...

You're not taking into the fact that judging by the picture, he is about 3 feet away from the tank, If his head was right next to the tank, sure that would be an accurate measurement, it's not, so neither of us are correct as for now.
