The guy in that pic is a native South American mate. And yes, I do not think that this guy should attempt to house a tig. I have been keeping fish for a while now (about 7 years) but I have been into monster fish for about 3 of those and have a broad understanding of fish and water quality/parameters but still would not attempt to keep a fish such as a tig or other sensitive species.Just Toby;4098217; said:I think that I3Fish is well meaning to try and put off someone with a small tank from adding a Tig and I do not doubt the size of wild caught specimins.
I would expect by the nature of the evidence pic (Asian, basic holding tank etc..) that this is in Asia and is most likely a wild caught specimen.
Often wc fish grown from young in home aquaria will never attain their full size but I agree that caution should be used.
These also seem very sensitive and should not be bought by any other than experienced keepers, i.e. not the sort of person who needs to ask if their 90gal tank with a hang on the back filter is ok for now!
