How big is a monster tank?

Man this will get answered many different ways. Great topic.

I am not sure you can draw the line. It comes with the hobby/addiction.

LOL
:D

I consider eight foot tanks to qualify as "monster". Of course this could vary, someone could havea a 6' x 6' tank that would more than qualify. Everyone has different opinions. A lot of people out there probably think my 300 is small. :(

My first tank was... I cannot remember, think it was a 55 or something I thought that was mega... now I have a 120 when I first got it home (in December) I thought it was mega.

And now I am planning to get by the end of the year a 325g!

That is so true. I remember when we purchased our 55 gallon tank. My wife and I thought it was an absolute monster. We also thought it cost a fortune. It's funny how time changes things, I now use a 75 gallon tank as a filter and wish that it was bigger. :D

Well my 55 is tiny compared to you guys. I loved my largemouth bass that it housed too, but he passed recently. He was meaner than any other fish I ever have seen apart from real sharks. He killed a bass bigger than him just for fun. He ate like a horse. That fish was a monster, so is the 55 a monster tank????

i like to think of the fish inside as monster example im getting a 150 gallon tank in a few weeks if i were to fill it with neon tetras and otehr little fish it wouldnt be a "monster fish" tank it wuld just be a "fish " tank. so if u have a 1000 gallon fish tank and stock it with neons and serpaes to me its still not a monster fish tank cause theres no monster fish inside it

lol this brings up anotehr question at what size do we call a fish monster ?

8 " ? 10" ? 12"? 14" ? 24" ? where do we draw the line

to teh person above yeah its a monster fish tank
