What are you feeding your Pacu? Mine are on Hikari Cichlid Staple floating pellets, Bananas, grapes, carrots and mice (when they feel like it). I don't argue with them, they busted my 150 right in front of me, all over the floor couple years ago. I had a banana in my hand standing across from them in the kitchen and wasn't paying attention. They got it alright. About 100 gallons of that tank was on my floor in a split second. They both just rammed it in the corner at the same time. You can keep the bigger one's I'm trying to not force mine any bigger to fast. I bought them that 220 they are in and that better last them awhile.

No mine never do anything bad except once the one pacu ate the piece of plastic off the heater..and it passed through his digestive system and came to rest half in and half out of his rectum.. took him out and pulled the plastic the rest of the way out..he healed up fine.. one is 27 inches the other is smaller...maybe it was all that meat you were feeding them..lol.. mine only eat fruit and veggies... i do not want Monster Pacus:D Sorry you had to put those pacu down...

I forgot to mention blanched carrots..i do not know how i could forget carrots because it is almost their staple in their diet..because i always have carrots for the horses... i slice and cut into small pieces for pacu as well;)

Wow, WAY overdue for a bigger tank IMO. I think your flirting with disaster.

I kept 3x ~20" pacu in my 8x3x2.5 (450gal) these fish just swim around far too much and need alot of space.

we are working on a bigger one in the near future.. but no matter how big it is.. i think there will be the same threat of breakage..;) we put them in our pond for a month but they would not eat and almost died..had to put them back where they could see out.. ;) What happen to your three pacu?
