How big is your tank for your Arowana?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if you dont plan to upgrade.
get rid of it as small/soon as possible.
i was going to get rid of my 22" aro thats in a 90 gallon long "5 foot"
but i got a 240 that landed in my lap.
glad i didnt get rid of him but thats rare to get what i got.
im "still" worried he will out grow my 240g 8'x2'x2'
but i have a real pond he can go in then
also,longer you wait,bigger he gets= hard to move,net,find a home.
im worried to move my aro to the 240 when its time
also a 120g isnt much for a silver over 24"
you see dels sad thread?
good luck whatever you do. ;)
oh and just cus some people stuff an aro in a tank doesnt mean its right,or even close.
also,i dont want to be blamed for you getting rid of it so its all up to you. ;) lol

You don't need a 400 gallon tank....a 180 would be nice though. Arowana are very flexible and can turn in a more narrow tank than most other fish...and it's gonna take a long time (if ever) for the fish to get 3ft. The first 24" are fast, then growth slows to a crawl.

I have a 240 Long for my Arowana...8'x2'x2'. I like the extra 2ft.

If you think you can't afford it, realize you can go big without spending 5 grand if you shop around and build some stuff yourself. My tank was about $1200. I'm a poor student at the moment, I can't work as many hours I'd like to, so that was A LOT of money to me. However...I got it piece by piece so I didn't fork it all over at once.

Keep the hope alive!!

stndfsh
thats the excactly the size i think long enough
