how big of a tank would i need....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'd say from experience of keeping an Oscar the Oscar alone would need about 100 so I'd say for those like 125 should be alright.

Actually the Oscar is in a large tub, and he's never been measured that i know of, although if i was given the chance to, i don't even think i would, because the Oscar is being housed with huge ID sharks, that were traded in, except for 1 that i rescued; a 30"+ Albino ID..

I do agree a 75 gallon is a good size for an adult Oscar because the width is 18", but with the bow front, at some parts of the tank, the width is only 13", and i just don't think that's enough for an adult Oscar.

That'd be perfect.

To me it isn't ideal but it would work but the convict is the biggest problem because the O might eat it in my thoughts. With a Oscar I would do nothing less then a 6" fish

The tank is only 13" at the point where the sides are attatched, it bends to 19" so its 13" at a point where the fish cant swim anyway, it bends immediatley to 14...then 15....etc

Plus i'll say it again, MFK run a thread of whos got the biggest oscar, the biggest was 13", theres more chance of me winning the lottery than having a Oscar bigger than everybody on this website.

The cute little basta-d is currently begging for food, in the tank that looks 1000000 times to big for him lol
