How big should I go?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How do you know that they dont look like that in the wild? So now your saying even with huge tank with thousands of gallons and huge foot print is still not big enough to be keeping aros in the hobby?
If it causes health issues it's not big enough. Thousands of years evolution in the wild does not create those defects.

You can have empathy for an animal without humanizing it. I'm well aware it's a fish.
The fish in the video looked as happy as a fish could be to me. Didn’t look stressed and was fat and healthy looking, honestly I doubt fish feel happiness, they know if they’re hungry, horny, or in pain or discomfort. That’s about it I imagine

Not once have I mentioned fish happiness, not once. I did say a bigger tank is more beneficial. The fish in the video looked trapped to my eyes with no chance of ever being able to swim at full speed or leap from the water as the have evolved to do in the wild. Maybe its just me but I pity that fish and its ****ty existence.

You would have thought you would have learned of their space requirements by now then.
Not really cause i know how they are, i learned form experiance not just by reading on the net. Each fish individual grows differently even they are same species, not all will hit 3’ no matter how big the tank or how many gallons you put it in, all this fish are in a glass cage. Idk if you ever keep a aro but if you havent then stop telling other you need this and that to keep them. Experience is better than just reading.

Bro even in public aquariums, silver arowanas still get dropeye. Example, thebiggerthebetter, has a 4500g aquarium with arowanas which still got dropeye. Are you tryna say 4500g is still not enough ??

Only if you learn from it.
Some people keep pacu in 6foot tanks for years and keep doing it. They have experience with pacu but are to stubborn or selfish to learn they need bigger.
