As all of you can see, all the posts before THIS quoted one were simply giving their opinions on whether my fish was a hybrid or not. THIS quoted post suddenly appeared, and from the text it's plainly clear he's implying something. NO-ONE before this post had tried to make trouble. Not even me.
It kind of looks like some type of Vieja. Maybe a Guttalatum or Hartwegi maybe. With those pics (although they are good pics) its impossible for me to ID the fish. I'm not going to jump on the Hybrid bandwagon just yet. It could very well be a Vieja just not sure which one.

Thanks for the compliment. Yeah I'm 100% sure it's a Paratheraps (Vieja), just unsure which species. But actually he looks a lot like a Fenestratus in real life. The pics don't show the turquiose blue on the body, for some reason.
Right. Why don't you send him an email asking if he can guarantee that every cichlid he sells is purebred. His answer will be "No". Please do it, since you don't believe that Jeff Rapps can occasionally sell hybrids - unintentionally or otherwise. I'm looking forward to the outcome of your email to Jeff Rapps.

Since hybrids occasionally occur in the wild, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that even the amazing Jeff Rapps could get a hold of a hybrid and pass it on unintentionally as a non-hybrid.
The above is not meant sarcastically, and I don't think he would intetionally try to pass off a hybrid as a non-hybrid. Sometimes in life, mistakes are made. With that said, Rapps is the best thing to happen to our hobby for finding quality fishes. All the fishes I've seen coming from him, especially the wild caughts, are simply stunners. Where else are you going to find a 10" wild caught jag for less than $100?
