How can I tell the difference between button Polyps and Glass Anemones

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Peppermint shrimp, if you get the REAL peppermint shrmip will work 90% of the time. I have never had it not work...and used this method three times.

Copperbanded should be bought small so it can be returned to the LFS.

Not a very hard fish to care for either if you know what you are doing. Some time in QT to get it adjusted to taking captive foods like live blackworms (Eventually just start mixing in mysis) ect can be accepted fairly readily.

Ok, since I only have the 1 tang do you guys think a Chocolate Chip Starfish will get the job done???
I read they will eat anything that will sit still long enough!!!!!

Has anyone ever heard of someone using the CC starfish???

Hmm not with these guys. Plus when they get disturbed they release all of their (whatever their babies are called) into the water column just leaving you with a million juveniles.

Well I guess it's back to looking for some peppermints!!!!!!
I'm gonna be taking my tank apart once I get this refugium done but man scrubing and drying all that rock is gone be hell!!!!! Smh!!!
It would just be so nice to get something that would take care of these things for me!!!!

There are also small nudibranchs that will just die in ashort period of time anyways...they are obligate feeders of aptasia...berghsia or something...dont know the exact spelling.

I know a guy that cultures them...and sells them over on R2R...there is a waiting list though.

Might be worth looking into...never have to remove them, and dont have to worry about after the fact care like you would with a copperbanded.

Drying the rock isnt a bad idea...but I would replace the substrate at the same time...and clean out the tank pretty well.

If you only have that one tang, I would say you could get away with that.
