How cold could an alligator gar survive in?

Been think of putting a gator gar in my aprox 5000 gallon outdoor pond. How cold could the gator withstand. I live in michigan so the pond would freeze over

as long as it don't freeze over the gator gar would be ok. they have to be able to surface for air I currently have some floridas in an out door pond and so far they are doing ok.

Longnose Gar are in lake Erie.

Yes I didn't know this until a couple of years ago.

Although I kept one years ago I don't know a whole lot about gars.

Easy fix... u just have a pump running at the suface to create agitation and it leaves a hole open for air. This is beneficial to any pond that freezes over even without air breathing fish.
