Got a couple of questions, How come my dovii doesn't look like it's turning purple, and can you determine the sex of my 2 dovii's in the pic. Sorry these are the best pics I got right now.

I also just included some pics of my other cichlids, hope you enjoy them:popcorn:

It looks to be female, which could be why its not coloring up.That is a nice fish setup you have. How many tanks do you have up and running?

Nice fish. Your Dovii are most likely not exhibiting their purple sheen due to their immaturity. How long has it been since they were introduced to the tank? Could be stress as well.

I have 8 tanks in my basement. Soon to be 10. Waiting to tile other side of basement and then 2 - 180's are going to be the new home of some of my monsters. I'm going to be breeding some GT's and some cons in the other tanks when they become available

Had them for about a month now. Does the big one look like a female. Was hoping to breed them

Nice little dovii; it needs to mature a little more to show the colours. You also need to change the gravel/background. The blue gravel/background will take away from the dovii's colours. Try something dark like black gravel/background; it will really bring out the colours. I can see the colours starting to come out in the 5th pic from the top. You've got some really nice GT's...

WOW nice collection, love the gt and jds, can you list what you have?:)
and the dovii it may be because of the substrate or that it takes more time

They're still young. My guess though, both females. Have patience.
