How come my dovii not turning purple???

female is about 5.5inches, male is 3inches. his coloring comes and goes. he has been trying his best to impress the female lately so the colors have been really intense. i believe he isnt mature enough to breed with her but he tries really hard:naughty:

Nice.. my little guys colors are starting to pop a little more now that he's almost 5". Maybe I should get him a female and see if they come out faster.

yeah you should. its funny to see them go through their courtship/flirting phase. the lil male i ahve tries so hard all day long. most of the time she jsut nudges him away. lol
 
No color yet, there still bland.....:ROFL: :ROFL: :ROFL: . I'll take some updated pics tonight. One thing they are getting bigger and have a bigger appitite too. Last night the big one came out of his corner and was just staring at me. I was eating in front of the big tank next to him. He was looking at me like wanted some food. So I threw a handfull of crickets in there about 10-12 crickets and they both attacked their food. I started laughing at the big one that was looking at me because he looked like a retard......He is very smart though
