How: Commercial/Exhibit Aquarium Construction

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Honestly, you got me excited with the the word "permit".

LOL, the fact that your going to need a permit for your fish tank kills me!

Any thoughts/plans you would like us to critique post em up. We may be able to brainstorm some ideas for you, what if's and so on. Worst case it will just be fun to chat about it :)

Um... while I sense your excitement, and I *was* there at one time, I now know much more about regulation, zoning, and permits than I ever wanted to know. Thus, I no longer have "excitement" with regards to the concept "permits" (although yes, the topic of permits in general can get me quite excited, as it turns out ... ;-))

Absolutely -- I intend to do that. There's a lot of good experience here that I'd love to use, and even people that haven't attempted some of this weirdness should be able to provide ideas and a "fresh pair of eyes" for what I'm sure will be a never-ending set of reviews and problem-solving.

Part of the complexity is that I intended to build the tank *into* a house that would also be built. So, we're also talking about the logistics and overhead of house construction. However, due to the tank(s) size, they need their own engineering requirements. I've been a little surprised that lots of engineers don't really want to do the "big wall of water" engineering thing.

Of course, this has all been done before like Arapaimag's tanks:
