Is this fish line bred or is it a hybrid of differant types or Heros? Is it just a color morph that they did selective breeding with?

What is it?

No one knows for sure as far as I've read. The two theories I've head is line bred from gold sevs (which are line bred from green sevs) or a gold sev/tapajos green sev (which has a lot of red on the face).

Why does it matter?
:screwy: ..........

I think this is a good question, OP. I've asked myself this a couple times. Interested to see what comes up. I'm not a knowledgeable Sev person.

Dont most lose their red color as they mature? I've never seen one hold it's color. Sorry if this Q is a derail, OP.

It's the complete opposite. They get more red as they mature.

They are nothing liek golds imo, the colour is very different, the shape is always different etc..

Not sure were you are getting that. They look identical in most cases other then color. A lot of the male golds can even have a lot of red spotting on them.
