The Honest Truth

Some idiot pushed me into the school pond in Middle school back in 2002. Thats when I started to notice about fishes

My Uncle had a 55 and i loved going over there and feeding the fish, it was mostly chubs and crayfish from the creek behind the house. My mom wouldnt let me have a tank of my own so when i got my own place, it was WFO all the way.

I was given a 29 gl. tank with 3 6" goldfish when a neighbor moved. I gave it to my daughter. While shopping for fish supplies, I became one of those people with 'Wanna be a fish keeper' Syndrome!

I got one of those 10 gallon aquarium kits they sell for my birthday when I was 7 and I've been keeping fish ever since. :)

My mother gave me a 3 gallon tank that she had kept a betta in. I immediately went and bought an oscar. Now I have more money into my fish than I do in any other hobby.

Bwahahaha!!! I can believe it. My sis pushed me in a bunch of sticker bushes when i was young, and it triggered an intense fascination and respect for horticulture...Lol.

My entire life I've been surrounded by family and neighbors that kept fish, but it was my uncle's that got me interested. He had a few tanks, one monster tank, when i was about 16. The monster tank had an arowana, clown, knife, upside down cat, and another i can't remember. He had them for a long time, and fed them only live. He started letting me feed them, and I loved it. They never liked me as much as him though :) When he died, his monster tank also died, all of them. The community tanks survived. Still, the hobby was passed to me, though this is my first monster tank. Seeing the devastation after my uncle passed away inhibited me to even attempt a monster tank, but my husband has no such inhibitions, so here we go!!

Well kinda poopy story but on july 14, 2009 my family an I went out fishing for the day and was heading home later that night with all the fish we caught that day and a drunk driver crossed into our lane and hit us head on. I was not wearing a seatbelt and slammed my head into the passengers head rest and had a pretty bad brain injury. I was trying to keep my family on a happy note in someway as we were heading to the hospital, saying hey at least we still have the fish to eat. The next morning we all headed home from the hospital and I found out that fish spoiled over night. I tried to continue school and work but my brain wasn't functioning properly and My doctor said I had to rest my brian, so I had to quit school and work. The only think I could do was fish. My fathers blames my obsession on the fact that I was bonked in the head and it made my brain just think about that. I am now recovered and fished saved me in a way. Thats why I love this hobby!

Got a gift from my Mother. Xmas of 73.
